Privacy notice
This website is built to collect as little as possible. It sets no cookies of its own, runs no analytics, and has no forms. This notice explains the little that does happen, mostly through the companies that host the site and provide the booking calendar, and what happens if you email Verena or decide to work with her.
Who is responsible
Meet My Valentine is the matchmaking practice of Verena Bellacea, based in the Netherlands. Verena is the controller for the personal data described here. For anything to do with your data, contact her directly.

Visiting this website
The site itself stores nothing about you. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which delivers the pages and protects them from abuse. To do that, Cloudflare processes your IP address and the usual technical details of each request (browser, page requested, time) in its logs, and may run a brief automatic bot check. If a check is triggered, Cloudflare sets a security cookie for it; that cookie is strictly necessary and needs no consent. Your browser may also send Cloudflare an anonymous report if a page fails to load. Verena does not see any of this.
Legal basis: Verena’s legitimate interest in keeping the site available and secure (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare acts as processor under its own data processing terms. See the Cloudflare privacy policy ↗.
Booking a conversation
The calendar on the booking page is provided by Cal.com. Nothing from Cal.com loads until you choose to open the calendar; the button says so. Once you open it, Cal.com receives your IP address, sets its own cookies, and handles the details you enter: your name, email address, time zone, the time you choose, and anything you add in the notes. If you arrived through a referral link (for example from Nick, an event, or social media), that referral source is passed along too, so Verena knows how you found her. Nothing else about your visit is passed on. You can also book by email instead.
Verena uses these details to hold the conversation and follow up with you. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Cal.com acts as processor. Cal.com, Inc. is based in the United States; its privacy policy ↗ and data processing terms describe the safeguards applied to data transferred outside the European Economic Area.
Emailing Verena
If you email, Verena processes your email address, your name and whatever you write in order to reply. Legal basis: steps before a contract, or Verena’s legitimate interest in answering your enquiry (Article 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
Working with Verena
If you go on to work with Verena, matchmaking means talking about your life, your relationships, and what you are looking for in a partner. Some of that is sensitive under data protection law, such as sexual orientation, religion or health. Verena processes it only with your explicit consent, which she asks for before any matchmaking begins and which you can withdraw at any time. The details of that processing are explained and agreed with you directly; this notice covers the website.
Sharing and retention
Verena does not sell personal data or share it for marketing. The only recipients are the service providers named above, each acting as processor on her instructions. Booking and email details are kept for as long as needed to hold the conversation and any follow-up; if you do not become a client, you can ask for them to be deleted at any time. Cloudflare keeps its logs under its own retention policy.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your personal data, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy to take elsewhere; you can object to processing based on legitimate interest; and you can withdraw any consent you have given. Email verena@meetmyvalentine.com. You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens ↗, or to the authority in your own country.

Changes
If the way this site works changes, this notice is updated and the date at the top changes with it.
